Il Technology Transfer Office, che dal 2024 aderisce all’Associazione Nazionale Netval (Network italiano per la valorizzazione della Ricerca), ha come finalità la valorizzazione in chiave economica dei risultati della ricerca scientifica e tecnologica e la tutela della proprietà intellettuale, ponendosi come punto di riferimento tra la ricerca scientifica dell'Istituto ed il mondo delle imprese nell’ottica di favorire le sinergie tra pubblico e privato.
In particolare Il TTO svolge le seguenti attività:
• attività di scouting, finalizzate a far emergere i risultati scientifici conseguiti ed a mappare competenze e tecnologie presenti;
• attività di matchmaking e networking tra imprese, investitori e ricercatori al fine di avviare collaborazioni e partnership con Università, Centri di Ricerca, Poli d'innovazione e Reti d'impresa;
• gestione di procedure per l'affidamento dei servizi di deposito e mantenimento di domande di brevetto nazionali, europee e/o internazionali;
• supporto ai Ricercatori nelle attività strumentali allo sfruttamento economico/patrimoniale delle invenzioni (es. licenze, cessioni, collaborazioni, etc.);
• gestione, monitoraggio e valutazione del portafoglio brevetti;
• supporto nello sviluppo e redazione di accordi di tutela della Proprietà Intellettuale che variano in ragione dell'oggetto:
o Material Transfert Agreement (MTA);
o Material Transfert and Data Agreement (MTDA);
o Data Transfert Agreement (DTA);
o Data Use Agreement(DUA).
• supporto nella creazione di impresa spin-off all’interno dell’Istituto e gestione delle procedure di incubazione.
La Mission è incentivare lo sviluppo e la diffusione di soluzioni mediche all'avanguardia che migliorino la qualità della vita della comunità nel suo insieme. Questa iniziativa non solo favorisce l'innovazione nel campo dell'assistenza sanitaria, ma rappresenta anche un'opportunità per attrarre Partner ed investitori, che a loro volta alimentino ulteriori progressi nella ricerca clinica, creando valore per il futuro della medicina.
Nell’ambito del Trasferimento Tecnologico L’Istituto ha in attivo 3 Progetti:
• PROGETTO: “LIFE SCIENCE TTO NETWORK (PNC-TT) - PNC-E3-2022-23683268 – CUP MASTER: B53C22008210001” FINANZIATO DAL MINISTERO DELLA SALUTE NELL’AMBITO DEL PIANO NAZIONALE COMPLEMENTARE ECOSISTEMA INNOVATIVO DELLA SALUTE - CODICE UNIVOCO INVESTIMENTO: PNC-E.3. PerfeTTO è la prima rete italiana composta da Uffici di trasferimento tecnologico (TTO) nel settore delle Scienze della Vita finanziata con un investimento pubblico complessivo di 15 milioni di euro dal Ministero della Salute attraverso il Piano Nazionale Complementare (PNC) al Piano Nazionale di Ripresa e Resilienza (PNRR).
• PROGETTO TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER OFFICE AND COLLABORATIVE RESEARCH2 (TTOC2) - PIANO NAZIONALE DI RIPRESA E RESILIENZA, MISSIONE 1 "DIGITALIZZAZIONE, INNOVAZIONE COMPETITIVITÀ, CULTURA E TURISMO" - COMPONENTE 2 "DIGITALIZZAZIONE, INNOVAZIONE E COMPETITIVITÀ NEL SISTEMA PRODUTTIVO" — INVESTIMENTO 6 "SISTEMA DELLA PROPRIETÀ INDUSTRIALE" FINANZIATO DALL'UNIONE EUROPEA — NEXT GENERATION EU. Finalità del Progetto è l’aumento di intensità dei flussi di trasferimento tecnologico verso il sistema delle imprese, e la tutela e la valorizzazione delle tecnologie e dei trovati d’Istituto;
• PROGETTO “PROOF OF CONCEPT FOR ITALIAN RESEARCH HOSPITALS (HEALTH-POC-IRCCS) - PNRR MISSIONE 1 - COMPONENTE 2 - INVESTIMENTO 6 FINANZIATO DALL’UNIONE EUROPEA –NEXTGENERATIONEU. Finalità del Progetto è la realizzazione di progetti di PoC diretti alla valorizzazione di brevetti e domande di brevetto attraverso l’incremento del livello di maturità tecnologica secondo la scala di TRL.
The Technology Transfer Office, which since 2024 has been a member of the National Association Netval (Italian Network for the Valorization of Research), aims to economically enhance the results of scientific and technological research and protect intellectual property, acting as a point of reference between the Institute's scientific research and the business world with the aim to foster public-private synergies.
In particular, The TTO carries out the following activities:
- scouting activities, aimed at bringing out scientific achievements and mapping present skills and technologies;
- matchmaking and networking activities among companies, investors and researchers in order to initiate collaborations and partnerships with Universities, Research Centers, Innovation Poles and Enterprise Networks;
- management of procedures for entrusting the services of filing and maintenance of national, European and/or international patent applications;
- support to Researchers in activities useful to the economic/equity exploitation of inventions (e.g., licenses, assignements, collaborations, etc.);
- management, monitoring and evaluation of the patent portfolio;
- support in the development and drafting of Intellectual Property protection agreements that vary by subject matter:
o Material Transfer Agreement (MTA);
o Material Transfer and Data Agreement (MTDA);
o Data Transfer Agreement (DTA);
o Data Use Agreement.
- Support in spin-off enterprise creation within the Institute and management of incubation procedures.
The Mission is to encourage the development and dissemination of cutting-edge medical solutions that improve the quality of life for the community as a whole.
This initiative not only fosters innovation in health care, but also represents an opportunity to attract Partners and investors, which in turn will fuel further advances in clinical research, creating value for the future of medicine.

PNC-E.3. PerfeTTO is the first Italian network composed by Technology Transfer Offices (TTOs) in the Life Sciences sector funded with a total public investment of 15 million euros by the Ministry of Health through the National Complementary Plan (PNC) together with the National Plan for Recovery and Resilience (PNRR).
- TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER OFFICE AND COLLABORATIVE RESEARCH2 (TTOC2) PROJECT - NATIONAL RECOVERY AND RESILIENCE PLAN, MISSION 1 "DIGITIZATION, INNOVATION COMPETITIVENESS, CULTURE AND TOURISM" - COMPONENT 2 "DIGITIZATION, INNOVATION AND COMPETITIVENESS IN THE PRODUCTION SYSTEM" - INVESTMENT 6 "INDUSTRIAL PROPERTY SYSTEM" FUNDED BY THE EUROPEAN UNION - NEXT GENERATION EU. Purpose of the Project is to increase the intensity of technology transfer flow to the business system, and the protection and enhancement of the Institute's technologies and discovery of research findingss;
- PROJECT "PROOF OF CONCEPT FOR ITALIAN RESEARCH HOSPITALS (HEALTH-POC-IRCCS) - PNRR MISSION 1 - COMPONENT 2 - INVESTMENT 6 FUNDED BY THE EUROPEAN UNION -NEXTGENERATIONEU. Aim of the Project is the realization of PoC projects directed to the enhancement of patents and patent applications by increasing the level of technological maturity according to the TRL scale.
